Atlas will arrive at Estadio Hidalgo on Friday for the Liga MX (Apertura) showdown with hosts Pachuca.
Scroll down for all of our predictions, poll and stats for the Pachuca v Atlas game below.
Pachuca, following on from their previous result, will be hoping for more of the same after a 1-0 Liga MX (Apertura) triumph versus León.
In that game, Pachuca had 56% possession and 17 shots at goal with 6 of them on target. The only player on the scoresheet for Pachuca was Israel Luna (86′). León got 5 shots on goal with 3 on target.
A common theme in more recent Pachuca games is the high number of scores with a nil in them.
From their previous sextet of clashes leading up to this one, in 6 of them a wager on “Both Teams to Score” would have lost. We will have to find out whether or not that trend will be continued on here.
In their last fixture, Atlas drew 1-1 in the Liga MX (Apertura) tie with Puebla.
In that game, Atlas had 54% possession and 14 shots at goal with 6 of them on target. The only player on the scoresheet for Atlas was Julián Quiñones (45′). Puebla had 10 attempts on goal with 6 of them on target. Martín Barragán (11′) was the scorer for Puebla.
The stats don’t lie, and Atlas have been scored against in 6 of their last 6 matches, with opponents netting 7 goals in total. Defensively, Atlas have not been doing too well.
Their past results show that Atlas:
- have not been beaten by Pachuca when having played them away from home in the previous 2 matches in the league.
- haven’t won away from home in the past 5 league matches.
↔️ Head to head
Looking at the statistics for their head to head duels dating back to 19/09/2020, there has been little between the sides with Pachuca winning 3 of those games, Atlas 3 and 0 being drawn in regulation time.
An aggregate of 9 goals were produced between them in these games, with 4 for Los Tuzos and 5 belonging to Los Zorros. The average number of goals per game works out to 1.5.
📋 Team News: Pachuca
Looking at personnel, there is just the sole fitness concern for the Pachuca boss Guillermo Almada to contend with from an otherwise fully-primed group. Javier López (Fitness) misses out.
In our view, Los Tuzos could opt for a 4-4-2 system for this game, handing starts to Oscar Ustari, Kevin Alvarez, M. André Isais, Oscar Murillo, Gustavo Cabral, Avilés Hurtado, Jesús Hernández, Luis Chávez, Nicolás Ibáñez, Roberto de la Rosa and Erick Sánchez.
ℹ️ Team News: Atlas
Atlas boss Diego Cocca has to choose a team with limited availability. Aldo Rocha (Hamstring Injury) and Mauro Manotas (Cruciate Ligament Injury) can’t be considered.
We are inclined to think that Los Zorros appear most likely to elect for a 4-4-2 formation with a starting lineup of Camilo Vargas, Hugo Nervo, Anderson Santamaria, Luis Ricardo Reyes, Aníbal Chalá, Ángel Márquez, J. Ozziel Herrera, Edgar Zaldívar, Edison Flores, Julio Ceasr Furch and Julián Quiñones.
We’re thinking that Pachuca will likely create the chances to score more than once when they play Atlas, who may well find it hard to score themselves.
Accordingly, we see a 2-0 victory for Pachuca at the end of the match.
